Valsea Technologies is looking for self-driven Data Engineers. The position is hybrid, where we offer the possibility to sit in our amazing office in Marbella, Spain, but we consider the option of being fully remote within the EU for the right profile.
Who We Are
Our expertise is our people. Everything we do is done in-house, from start to finish. Trusting in our staff is a big part of our corporate culture and success.
We're defined by our core principles and values, which reflect in our products and teams. We are forward-thinking, open-minded, and embracing of new tech, and passionate about building a global culture. We have a team of more than 15 different nationalities, and we sit in an amazing office in the sunny Marbella, Spain.
Who You Are
You are a senior developer with a solid understanding of the technologies we use (Spark, Scala, AWS, Kafka, Druid, Parquet, Google Looker, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, shell scripting and SQL), but are also eager to venture into uncharted territory.
You need to be able to write code to build efficient data pipelines. Of course, you’re also familiar with the theory and good practices of modern software development necessary to produce high quality software with good performance.
You will be working together with the data team lead, another senior data engineer, and a data analyst to provide both the technical and commercial departments as well as directly with stakeholders and senior management to provide data support and solutions for making accurate business decisions.
Lastly, but most importantly, you are self-driven and self-organising and can work independently. You will formally report to the data team lead but expect each team member to manage him- or herself. You value this freedom and know how to make the most of it because you love software development and take pride in your work.
What You'll do
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
Design, implement, and maintain APIs to query the data efficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Implement data governance and data quality standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Monitor and maintain data storage solutions, such as data warehouses, data lakes, and databases.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering.
Enjoying fast-pace environments where your work is key.
